Retro Gaming on Budget Handhelds

a review

(Imagine a photo of a few handheld gaming consoles here. I'll stage a photo of mine sometime soon, once I start working on this in earnest.)

A great way to explore old games on the go! (just, temper your expectations a bit)

I got into retro emulation a few years ago, after both my Dreamcast and Genesis started having age-related issues and discovering that the collector market for retro hardware, like every other collector's market out there, has lost its ever-loving mind. I absolutely refuse to spend the insane money some folks are spending on this stuff!

Still, I am very fond of a handful of 90s-through-mid-2000s games. I played a couple titles on my gaming PC and my living room multimedia mini-pc has just enough horsepower to run anything up to the Dreamcast, but I wanted to try playing something portable. I ended up getting one handheld, then two, then three. Now I have four, including one I plan on giving as a gift after putting it through a trial run!

I am unsure whether I want to make this a review or a guide. I could probably do both. This can serve as a general overview of my experience, while the guide can focus more on what one might look for.

More coming soon!
