Shows and Movies

When I say "shows," I mean it the same way that some older people talk about "watching their programs." Meaning, a catch-all for media.

This will be my media critique essay zone, where I will yap about whatever I have been watching lately.

I am a late arriver to anime, apart from whatevver I used to catch on Toonami circa 2005. (Unless you count the 4KidsTV dub of Sonic X? I really don't.) I got into Iyashikei, a calm and chill subgenre of slice-of-life anime around 2020 as an exercise in escapism, and I have progressively gotten more into different varieties of anime this last year or so. What I'm Watching Right Now

ACTION BUTTON REVIEWS Tokimeki Memorial:A 6-hour-long video essay about the exemplar of dating sims. Tim Rogers is a masterful storyteller and this video has proven to be a bit of a comfort show for me. Great to listen to his commentary ebb and flow while I write or read.

Catch Me at the Ballpark! An anime about a local baseball team and all the people involved with gamedays. Fans, vendors, kids, players, and the like. Very sweet show with fun character dynamics.

A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof: An anime with a helpfully self-descriptive title. Again, cute character dynamics.
